Week 2 MLA's Web 2.0 101 CE course

A wiki is a collaborative tool where multiple authors can post, update, edit documents but with tracking of contributions.

A blog is a tool for publishing or posting information chronologically. Blog are usually initiated and monitored by one person. While others may be invited to participate, the information is listed in reverse chronological order. The information cannot be edited.

While both are great for sharing, wikis are more collaborative and invite more interaction.

Wikis would be a great tool for the libraries in our organization. We share a lot of info in email and documents. I beleive a wiki could replace a great deal of this type of static interaction. We have a new member of our group that uses wikis. I hope we can move the group to this format.
